Dear Guest, we have put together a few interesting facts for your stay, so that you are well informed and can enjoy your holiday or your Schroth Cure.
Cuisine
Evening meal / Half-board/ Selection of cold cuts & cheeses with bread
Oberstaufen is famous for its culinary delights! You must try out the restaurants in the town centre, within walking distance – they're worth it! We also recommend that you have refreshments in the wonderful alpine huts and dairies, whilst you are hiking or cycling, and discover authentic "mountain cuisine". We will be glad to provide you with some recommendations.
We offer our hotel guests an evening meal with several courses at an extra charge of €24,50/day (except on your day of arrival and on Wednesdays).You can decide at breakfast time whether you wish to book this option or not.
Breakfast
Breakfast with a variety of fresh regional products is included in the price.
Tea
Our fresh teas are a speciality of Hotel Kronenhof. We make the teas ourselves with herbs from our garden and the surrounding area. A real pleasure all year round. Our Schroth Cure guests enjoy them first thing in the morning, to start the day. Of course, we serve our holiday guests these natural delicacies, if desired.
Bar
In the evening we serve our hotel guests a glass or two of wine, an Allgäu beer or a hot tea at the bar.
Check-in / Check-out
Arrival:
Your room is ready from 2 p.m. onwards on your day of arrival. Please see the tips and information about travelling to Hotel Kronenhof by car, by train or by plane on the page Location & route.
Departure:
Please vacate your room by 10.30 a.m. at the latest on your day of departure.
Room prices / payment/ local visitor's tax / cancellation
All room prices include breakfast and are per person and night. The price of the arrangements is per person. We will charge a surcharge for single occupancy in a double room. All the prices for rooms and treatments are in Euros and include V.A.T. The photos of the rooms are just examples of each room category. Feel free to pay with your Maestro EC debit card. The local visitor's tax will be charged separately with approximately € 2,70 per night. In the case of cancellation or early departure you will be charged 80% of the bed and breakfast costs and 60% of the Schroth Cure costs.

Parking
We have a car park which is free of charge. Undercover parking spaces cost € 4,- per day and underground parking spaces € 8,- per day.
Dogs
Dogs are allowed, in prior agreement with us and you will be charged € 15,- per day without feed. Please note that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant or in the wellness area.

Wellness area
A spacious outdoor swimming pool with whirlpool, sauna, infrared cabin and a sun terrace with a large garden awaits you in our wellness area.
Treatments
We offer a large variety of massages, body treatments with beauty / care. All of our therapists are freelance and will settle up with you directly.
Gym
Increase your endurance and strengthen your muscles in our gym.
Schroth Cure
Schroth Cure
Over a period of half a century, we have acquired an excellent reputation as a Schroth Cure hotel. We adhere to the Original Schroth Cure (with therapeutic treatments carried out by packers) out of conviction. Only the food has been refined. We season it with healthy herbs from our garden and prepare the food lovingly. Our hotel spa doctor Sabine Brosig comes from a renowned family of doctors, who have been caring and treating our Schroth Cure guests for many years and even now, in the third generation. In studies with the University of Munich, we have been able to demonstrate convincing improvements in the health of our spa guests, especially with type 2 diabetes! The hotel owner and manager Monika Aigner, a certified nutritionist, also gives valuable tips on nutrition at in-house lectures and personal consultations. And finally, our "Schrothler" can look over the shoulder of our chef whilst the Schroth Cure diet is being prepared. Here the secret is revealed of how the food gets a wonderfully intense taste, without any additives, just by using vegetables and herbs.

Weekly programme
Our weekly programme includes, for example, hikes, aqua aerobics, relaxation and breathing techniques, yoga, spinal exercises and back training. A unique feature of the weekly programme is the nutritional lectures that the hotel owner and nutritionist Monika Aigner holds to themes such as "healthy nutrition in daily life" or "baking bread made simple". Or if you prefer you can have a private consultation (additional charge).
Hiking / Winter walking
The 300 km hiking paradise of Oberstaufen – which incudes 200 km winter walking trails – satisfies every requirement.
Biking & Cycling
Are you wanting to take part in a leisurely cycle ride or to bike to the summit?  The varied landscape of Oberstaufen in Allgäu enables mountain bikers and more leisurely cyclists to find the route that suits their own needs.
E-Bikes
You can charge and store your e-bike that you brought with you.
Alpine huts
Rustic atmosphere, beautiful views and delicious snacks from the Allgäu cuisine. The refreshments at an alpine hut are for many guests the most important part of the hike or cycle ride in the mountains. We can provide you with personal recommendations if you wish.
Tennis
There are excellent outdoor tennis courts located directly opposite the hotel. Our son, a certified C-coach will give you a lesson, either on your own or in a group with your tennis club. You will need to bring your own equipment with you.
Rental of sport equipment
The centre of Oberstaufen is just a few minutes walk away, and there you will find professional sport shops which rent (E-)bikes, skis, cross-country skis, nordic walking poles etc.
Lake Constance
Lake Constance is just 1-hour car journey away. It really is worth a visit.

Cross-country ski tracks / cross-country skiing
The dreams of cross-country ski lovers come true in Hotel Kronenhof: cross country ski tracks that are floodlit and well-prepared (snow canons available) go straight past the hotel! Those that haven’t already discovered this healthy and meditative winter sport, should try it out on their holiday. Lots of people think that there’s nothing better than gliding through the snowy countryside on nordic skis and you won’t find any better conditions for it, than at Hotel Kronenhof.
